In Fiji

Well here we are in sunny Fiji, sitting at an outside table at the hotel restaurant, being serenaded by a traditional Fijian band, and enjoying the humidity. Right now it is 27 degrees, a far cry from the 3 degrees we left behind in Perth this morning. Both flights were uneventful, although I discovered my noise-cancelling headset was broken by the last person to use it, whose name shall remain anonymous. The flight from Sydney to Fiji was on an older 747 and the entertainment system was not up to scratch, as the video screen would not stay put and would slowly sag down. What with the broken headset and this problem, I gave up on the movies and slept most of the way there, unusual for me as I have trouble sleeping on planes. Ros has no such trouble, falling asleep at the drop of a hat.

Weather forecast is not difficult here, tomorrow, 29 max, 19 min. Tuesday, 29 max, 19 min...off driving around Vita Levu tomorrow. Only have 30 mins of internet access, so next update will be from Fulton College hopefully.

  1. Those old 747s always were a bit dodgy. The pilot had problems too - their seats were loose and the coms intermittant. Did the landing wheels hold on touch-down? - PeterB
